Reversed-Phase Chromatography (RP)
The most widely used LC mode. Utilizes non-polar stationary phases such as C18 or C8 and polar mobile phases. Ideal for small molecules requiring predictable retention and high reproducibility.
Superficially Porous Particles (SPP)
Also called “core-shell” particles. Used in Agilent Poroshell 120 columns to deliver UHPLC-grade efficiency with reduced back-pressure, enabling faster and higher-resolution separations.
Fully Porous Particles (FPP)
Traditional particle design used in Agilent ZORBAX, Polaris, and Pursuit columns. Offers broad selectivity, robust durability, and compatibility across classic and modern LC methods.
Particle Size
A key factor influencing efficiency, pressure, and resolution. Smaller particles (≤2–3 µm) deliver UHPLC-level performance, while 3.5–5 µm particles are ideal for standard HPLC systems.
Stationary Phase
