When to Use High Recovery Vials

There are two primary reasons labs use high recovery vials. The first, and perhaps most obvious, is when working with limited-volume samples. In these situations, retrieving the last few microliters is essential for successful analysis. The second reason is when reinjecting the same sample is required, even though the sample was not initially limited. The total recovery vial ensures that the remaining sample volume is sufficient for the next injection.

Where to Buy Total Recovery Vials

Some specific HPLC systems require a specific type of high recovery vial (as opposed to a generic vial with an insert). You may think you only have one option: to purchase the vials directly from your HPLC manufacturer. But this can be quite cost-prohibitive for sample analysis. Recently, we have helped high throughput labs by supplying them with high recovery autosampler vials at a fraction of the price that they are offered by the instrument manufacturer. The customers are able to use the high recovery vials they want at a price that works in their budget.

An Overview of High Recovery Vials

High recovery vials have a total capacity of about 1.5mL, but the tapered conical finish of the vial bottom allows for the needle to be able to draw up the last few microliters.
