Valco C6W Sample Loops

Valco sample loops are designed for use with 1/16" Valco injectors featuring 0.40 mm ports, providing precise and repeatable sample volumes for analytical and HPLC workflows. These stainless steel loops support consistent injection performance in demanding laboratory environments.

Each loop is electrolytically cut and electrochemically polished to produce square, burr-free tubing ends, then cleaned using microfiltered steam from deionized water to ensure high internal cleanliness and reliable fluid paths.

Loops are accurately sized for each valve type; however, with small-volume loops, normal tubing ID tolerances (± 0.001") can influence final loop volume. As a result, loop appearance and measured volume may vary slightly between manufacturing batches.

Each sample loop is supplied complete with two stainless steel nuts and ferrules for straightforward installation into Valco injector ports.

Key Definitions â–¶
Sample Loop
A precision-length tubing assembly used in injector valves to hold and introduce a fixed volume of sample into a chromatography system.
Injector Valve
A multi-port chromatography valve that directs the sample loop into the flow path for controlled sample injection.
Tubing ID
The internal diameter of the tubing. Small variations in tubing ID can affect loop volume, particularly for low-volume sample loops.
Electrochemical Polishing
A finishing process that smooths internal tubing surfaces and removes burrs, improving cleanliness and flow consistency.
0.40 mm Port
The internal port diameter on compatible Valco injector valves designed to accept 1/16" sample loop tubing.
Stainless Steel Nuts and Ferrules
Compression components supplied with each loop that secure the tubing into the injector valve ports.
Frequently Asked Questions â–¶
What are Valco sample loops used for?
Valco sample loops hold a fixed volume of sample that is introduced into the chromatography system through an injector valve, enabling precise and repeatable injections.
Are these sample loops compatible with all Valco injectors?
These loops are designed specifically for 1/16" Valco injectors with 0.40 mm ports. Always confirm valve port size before selecting a loop.
Why can loop volume vary between batches?
Small-volume loops are sensitive to tubing ID tolerances (± 0.001"). These normal manufacturing variations can cause slight differences in loop volume and appearance between batches.
How are Valco sample loops manufactured?
Loops are electrolytically cut and electrochemically polished to produce square, burr-free ends, then cleaned with microfiltered steam from deionized water for high internal cleanliness.
What hardware is included with each loop?
Each Valco sample loop includes two stainless steel nuts and ferrules for direct installation into compatible injector valves.
