Restek Rxi-17Sil MS GC columns combine enhanced mid-polarity selectivity with exceptionally low bleed and
rugged high-temperature stability, delivering powerful performance for GC-MS analysis of complex and
highly functionalized compounds. Featuring a 50% phenyl, 50% dimethylpolysiloxane stationary phase
reinforced with Restek’s proprietary silarylene (–Si–) backbone, Rxi-17Sil MS offers stronger interactions
with aromatic, polarizable, and moderately polar analytes than nonpolar phases, while maintaining superior
thermal durability and inertness.
The silarylene-strengthened polymer matrix provides outstanding column stability under aggressive temperature programs, reducing bleed and producing cleaner mass spectra for ultra-trace detection. Combined with Rxi® deactivation chemistry, the column delivers symmetrical peak shapes for active, oxygenated, or derivatized compounds that often show tailing on less inert phases.
