IDEX LiteTouch Fingertight Fittings

IDEX LiteTouch fittings are engineered to deliver secure, high-pressure connections with the ease of fingertight installation. Featuring a unique dual-compression gripping system, these fittings apply holding force at two contact points—providing superior tubing retention while minimizing the risk of slippage under pressure.

Unlike standard fingertight fittings, LiteTouch designs help prevent tubing twist during installation, protecting your tubing from stress and deformation. This makes them an excellent choice for precision fluidic paths where consistent flow and alignment matter.

LiteTouch fittings are available for 1/32", 1/16", and 1/8" OD tubing and compatible with 10-32 and 1/4-28 coned ports, offering flexibility across a wide range of chromatographic and instrumentation platforms.

To maintain optimal performance, the LiteTouch system is designed for use with rigid tubing materials such as stainless steel and PEEK polymer tubing. Using LiteTouch fittings on softer tubing materials may result in tubing collapse and reduced sealing integrity.

Important Note: LiteTouch ferrules are not recommended for repeated use in plastic ports, as this may compromise sealing performance over time.

Chrom Tech is an authorized distributor of IDEX fluidic components and stocks a wide range of LiteTouch fittings and ferrules for fast shipment and expert application support.

Key Definitions â–¸
LiteTouch Technology
A dual-compression gripping system that applies holding force at two contact points to securely retain tubing while maintaining fingertight convenience.
Dual Compression
A sealing mechanism that grips tubing at two locations to improve pressure resistance, prevent slippage, and enhance connection stability.
Fingertight Installation
A tool-free installation method allowing fittings to be tightened securely using only finger pressure.
Tubing Twist Prevention
A design feature that minimizes rotational stress on tubing during installation, reducing deformation and extending tubing life.
Coned Port
A tapered port geometry that creates a sealing surface for fingertight fittings, commonly used in HPLC instrumentation.
Rigid Tubing
Tubing materials such as stainless steel or PEEK that resist collapse and are recommended for use with LiteTouch fittings.
Frequently Asked Questions â–¸
What makes LiteTouch fittings different from standard fingertight fittings?
LiteTouch fittings use a dual-compression gripping system that applies holding force at two points, improving pressure resistance and preventing tubing twist.
What tubing materials can I use with LiteTouch fittings?
LiteTouch fittings are designed for rigid tubing such as stainless steel and PEEK. They are not recommended for soft polymer tubing.
Can LiteTouch fittings be reused?
LiteTouch ferrules should not be repeatedly reused in plastic ports, as this may reduce sealing reliability over time.
What tubing sizes are supported?
LiteTouch fittings are available for 1/32", 1/16", and 1/8" OD tubing.
Are LiteTouch fittings compatible with standard HPLC systems?
Yes. LiteTouch fittings are compatible with standard 10-32 and 1/4-28 coned ports commonly found on HPLC instruments.
