For most customers performing liquid chromatography who prefer a screw thread vial, we recommend our popular 9 mm wide mouth vials as they offer a 40% larger opening than standard 8-425 screw thread vials. The exception to this would be for customers storing volatile compounds for extended periods of time.

The additional threading keeps a tighter seal, minimizing the opportunity for evaporation. With the exception of storing volatiles, our 9 mm screw thread is our most popular vial for ease of use, efficiency, and cost savings.

For those performing gas chromatography applications, our standard opening and wide mouth crimp top vials are very commonly used with crimp caps to eliminate solvent evaporation. Headspace vials are also available in various crimp top and screw thread sizes.
